College Football Loses A Legend – Joe Paterno passed away today.

January 22, 2012 in Sports

Sad news today for all football fans. Coach Joe Paterno has passed away at the age of 85 from Cancer.

Coach Paterno was a legend. A man of incredible character. A man who touched many many athletes lives. He will be missed by many. One can only imagine how heart wrenching his last few days were as he not only fought Cancer, but fought to protect his reputation after being dismissed prematurely, arguably, by Penn State for a scandal involving his assistant coach.

We’ll miss you Coach. Rest in peace.

NBA will be back in time for Christmas!

November 29, 2011 in Sports

Well as long as no one messes anything up in the next month. You know what that means? Snow Lion’s NBA thread shall be back. I know, contain yourselves!

If the new collective bargaining agreement is ratified as expected, the NBA has targeted Dec. 25 as opening day. The league has determined the 66-game schedule will be structured with 48 conference games and 18 nonconference games.
The NBA announced three games originally scheduled for Christmas Day will be retained — Celtics at Knicks; Heat at Mavericks; Bulls at Lakers — but did not specify if more Christmas games potentially would be added.
The league’s goal is to start training camps on Dec. 9, which also will begin the free agency process and would be the first day to sign players such as rookies in the 2011 NBA Draft.

OH YEAH AND GO CELTICS!

Suh can no longer argue he is not a dirty player.

Detroit Lines defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh has been accused many times in his short career of being a dirty player. But for the most part those incidents were either borderline, or were not caught on camera so they were not verifiable.

But after this incident it is clear that Suh is a dirty, cheap player.

Look closely at the video as Suh slams the offensive players head into the ground 3 times, then viciously kicks him as he lays on the ground defenseless. This occurred in today’s Thanksgiving day game against Green Bay and Suh was ejected for the cheap shot. Suh will likely face a suspension as well.
